In July of 2019, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed legislation establishing a state-based marketplace where Pennsylvania residents can apply, shop, and enroll in the health coverage that is right for them. While there are many similarities to the federal program, Pennie brings health coverage closer to home, and is focused solely on improving access to health coverage for Pennsylvanians.
